Unlicensed Activity

Unlicensed activity, practicing a profession without a required state license, is a misdemeanor criminal violation. DPOR’s regulatory boards do not have jurisdiction over unlicensed individuals. If DPOR gets a complaint about unlicensed activity, DPOR will first try to obtain compliance by either getting that individual or business in compliance with licensing requirements or by issuing a cease and desist order. If DPOR can’t obtain compliance, the case will be referred to local law enforcement.
