Property Owners’ Associations (POAs)
 

• POA DISCLOSURE PACKET NOTICE 
  • This document is to be provided with an association disclosure packet in accordance with §§ 55.1-1808 and 55.1-1809 of the Property Owners’ Association Act. 
     
• Maximum Allowable Preparation Fees for Disclosure Packets | Professionally Managed Associations  
  • “Professionally managed” means a common interest community that has engaged (i) a common interest community manager to provide management services to the community or (ii) a person as an employee for compensation to provide management services to the community, other than a resident of the community who provides bookkeeping, billing, or record-keeping services for that community. 
     
• Maximum Allowable Preparation Fees for Disclosure Packets | Associations NOT Professionally Managed  
   

Fees for POA Disclosure Packets

Effective July 1, 2019, amendments to the Property Owners' Association Act (POA Act) prohibit any POA from collecting fees for disclosure packets unless the association is: 

1. Registered with the Common Interest Community Board;
2. Current in filing its most recent Annual Report; and 
3. Not behind in any fees due to the CIC Board.
